About SkyBird Imprints
SkyBird Imprints is a small independent imprint founded by Hugh B. Hammett. It publishes the founder’s books and, selectively, helps other authors prepare their own books for publication. We work only on a limited number of projects so the editorial and production work can be personally supervised.
Dr. Hammett is a retired university vice president and emeritus professor. His work has centered on higher education, fundraising, nonprofit leadership, and animal welfare. SkyBird brings those interests together in practical nonfiction and occasional books for children and families.
Outside authors ordinarily remain publishers of their own work. SkyBird’s role is defined in a written services proposal, with clear deliverables, fees, and responsibilities.
